With only two homestands remaining in the 2016 season, time is running out to watch the Greenville Drive in action at Fluor Field! Beginning on Thursday, Drive fans will have the chance to catch fun promotions and help celebrate key members of the Upstate community while cheering on the Drive as they continue their quest towards a rally to the playoffs! The homestand begins on Thursday, August 11th as the Drive continue the Battle of the Palmetto State presented by Spinx against the Charleston RiverDogs, an affiliate of the New York Yankees. First pitch is at 7:05, and Thursday is Dollar Drink Night presented by The Iron Yard. Fans over 21 can head to The Iron Yard 500 Club to mingle with fellow young professionals while enjoying $1 PBRs and live music from Brooks Dixon, who mixes bluegrass, funk music, blues, and soul for a smooth sound all fans will enjoy. $1 Pepsi products will be available at all Drive concession stands throughout the evening.
Transport yourself back a few years on Friday, August 12th as the Drive celebrate 90s Night at Fluor Field at 7:05 PM! Stick around after the game for a spectacular postgame fireworks show, featuring all of your favorite 90s tunes from Matchbox 20, Spice Girls, Nirvana and many more! All evening, fans will get a chance to participate in fan favorite between-inning games, including a Singing Bee and 90s Trivia, and Reedy has some fun 90s themed entertainment planned that you will not want to miss.
Saturday, August 13th is Wild Outdoors Night at Fluor Field as the Drive salute the outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen of America! First pitch is at 7:05 PM, and the between-innings entertainment will have you ready to put on your camping and hiking gear and hit the outdoors, with highlights including animal soundbite trivia, a snake toss, a duck call contest, archery and much more.
The Drive will hold its annual AJ Whittenberg Day on Sunday, August 14th to celebrate the students, teachers and faculty of AJ Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering. The game begins at 4:05 PM, and students and teachers will get the opportunity to participate in pregame ceremonies and in-game entertainment, which includes a teacher “robot” dance-off, a building blocks challenge and more. Robotics and other interactive science displays will also be on display along the concourse to highlight the importance and excitement of engineering in our community. Stick around after the game for a Sunday tradition of BlueCross BlueShield Kids Run the Bases.
Following an off day, the Drive homestand continues with Greenville Chamber Night on Tuesday, August 16th against the Kannapolis Intimidators, an affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Throughout the evening, the Drive will celebrate the Greenville Chamber, Chamber companies, and the role the Chamber plays in improving education, entrepreneurship and economic development across the local community. All evening, key members of the Greenville Chamber will be recognized during in-game ceremonies and will get to participate in between-innings games and entertainment. The Drive have been an active member of the Greenville Chamber since their inception in 2006 and are proud to host the annual Chamber event again in 2016.
The Drive are excited to host Spartanburg Night on Wednesday, August 17th as they continue their year-round celebration of communities across the entire Upstate. The Spartanburg community will be on center stage Wednesday to recognize all of the great people, organizations, and companies that make up the Spartanburg community. First pitch on Wednesday is at 7:05 with Spartanburg highlighted throughout the entire evening, including pregame honorary positions, recognition on the DriveVision video board, and between-innings entertainment participation. Starting when gates open at 6:00 PM, head to The Iron Yard 500 Club for Iron Pint Wednesday, which features $3 Iron Pint glasses and a wide variety of food and drink options to suit every fan.
The homestand comes full circle on Thursday, August 18th with another Dollar Drink Night presented by The Iron Yard. The Drive will host Uptown Entertainment in The Iron Yard 500 Club, which will feature a DJ and karaoke as well as $1 PBR specials from the coolest hangout spot in Downtown Greenville! $1 Pepsi products will be on sale as well, so come on out to Fluor Field to help the Drive wrap up a fun homestand!
