Following a successful first homestand that saw the Greenville Drive post a 5-2 record, the home schedule at Fluor Field continues on Thursday, April 20th with a seven-game homestand. On the field, the Drive have received strong starts to the season from pitchers Shaun Anderson and Darwinzon Hernandez, and offensive players such as Bobby Dalbec, Tyler Hill and Ryan Scott have powered the team’s success. The homestand begins against the Rome Braves, an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, on Thursday, April 20th at 7:05 PM. Thursday is Dollar Drink Night presented by The Iron Yard, and fans 21 and older can head to The Iron Yard 500 Club, which features a unique setting for young professional networking, as well as $1 PBRs and great views of the new Fluor Field. $1 Pepsi products will be available at each concession stand along the concourse, and be sure to pair your drink with a Carolina Pride Mac and Cheese Dog, the Hot Dog of the Month at Fluor Field.
The Hubbell Lighting “Light it Up” Friday Night Fireworks highlight the action on Friday, April 21st. Following the 7:05 PM game, fans will be treated to the best fireworks show in Greenville, and all night long, it’s “One-Hit Wonders Night,” featuring all of your favorite one-hit wonders in between batters, during between-innings entertainment, and throughout the fireworks show.
Get your phones ready on Saturday, April 22nd for Social Media Night! The game begins at 7:05 PM, but before and during the game, the Drive will be interacting with you on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, showing you the ins and outs of a game night at Fluor Field. The Rome series concludes on Sunday, April 23rd with the Michelin Reading All-Stars Celebration Game for Anderson, Pickens and Spartanburg County Schools. Prior to the 4:05 PM game, all Reading All-Stars will receive a t-shirt for their hard work in their school reading programs this year, they will get to meet with Drive players before the game, and they will participate in a pregame parade around the Fluor Field warning track. On Monday, April 24th, the Drive and Michelin will host the Reading All-Stars Celebration Game for Greenville County Schools. During the game, the Drive will be welcoming new schools into the Reading All-Stars Hall of Fame who have excelled in the program for several years. In addition, students will have the opportunity to participate in an in-game book fair courtesy of Public Education Partners, a key partner of the Drive who works to improve public education and student achievement in Greenville County Schools.
The second annual Health Careers Night highlights the action at Fluor Field on Tuesday, April 25th at 7:05 PM. Gates open at 6:00 PM with a Health Careers fair on the stadium concourse showcasing the wide array of careers available in the ever-expanding field of health care. Concourse exhibits, on-field games and testimonials will ensure the evening is filled with great entertainment and education, for students and the entire community. The homestand concludes on Wednesday, April 26th at 2:05 PM as the Drive and Elliott Davis partner for the annual Drive Business Downtown game. This event in and about the heart of Downtown Greenville celebrates our wonderful downtown and those most committed to its development with a great day of networking. A local business leader luncheon in the new Champions Club presented by Hubbell Lighting kicks off the day. This will be a day of celebration, as well as giving back, as over 50 local companies have signed on as “boosters” for Drive Business Downtown, and proceeds from the day will benefit United Ministries, one of Greenville’s most significant non-profit organizations. In addition to taking part in a premier networking event, businessmen and women in Greenville will have a unique opportunity to enjoy day baseball at Fluor Field.
