Former South Carolina Quarterback Ryan Hilinski Commits To Northwestern University

Former South Carolina quarterback Ryan Hilinski is transferring to Northwestern. He announced the news on Tuesday night via social media.

Hilinski entered the transfer portal on Dec. 30. After starting 11 games as a true freshman in 2019, Hilinski did not start any of South Carolina’s 10 games played in 2020. He played in two games and was 4-of-6 (66.7 percent) for 34 yards. He lost the starting quarterback battle in preseason camp to graduate transfer Collin Hill. When Hill was benched in the second half of game number eight, against Missouri, interim head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo called on freshman Luke Doty to play. Doty started the final two games of the season.
