Your first place Greenville Drive, who have posted a 30-20 record thus far and sit atop the Southern Division, return home to Fluor Field on Monday, June 1st for a brief three-game series with the Kannapolis Intimidators, affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. The Drive roster is filled with some of the most talented and highly-touted players in all of professional baseball. Offensively, the club leads the South Atlantic League with a .273 batting average, 260 runs and 476 hits. The addition of 20-year old Cuban infielder Yoan Moncada, who ranks as the #8 overall prospect in all of Minor League Baseball, was a huge boost to an already talented group of hitters.
The outstanding infield also includes 19-year old Michael Chavis, who leads the team with five homers, 18-year old Rafael Devers, who is hitting .341 with 22 RBI, 20-year old Mauricio Dubon, who has four homers and 25 RBI with a .295 average, and 19-year old Javier Guerra, who sports a .297 average with four homers, 21 RBI and superb defense at shortstop.

The Drive will celebrate Sysco Appreciation Day on Monday, June 1st for the 7:05 game against the Intimidators. Sysco, a proud partner of the Greenville Drive, distributes food products to business across the country, and the Drive are excited to have them for a full day of celebration which begins in the morning with Fluor Field serving as a “test kitchenâ€ with Sysco’s vendors. During the game, many of these employees will be celebrated as they serve as honorary positions and participate in on-field activities!
Tuesday, June 2nd is Summer Fun at the Y Night. The Drive and YMCA of Greenville are teaming up to offer free day passes at any YMCA of Greenville branch to fans who purchase a ticket to Tuesday’s game. Fans will get the chance to interact with some of the outstanding coaches and counselors who help make the YMCA of Greenville a great place to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition, the Drive will be highlighting some of the local YMCA of Greenville sports teams for their recent accomplishments, and fans will have the opportunity to learn about the quality summer day camp programs that help children reach their full potential.
The homestand concludes on Wednesday, June 3rd with Greenville Chamber Night. Throughout the evening, the Drive will celebrate the Greenville Chamber for their important role in representing businesses and the role its members play in improving education, entrepreneurship and economic development across the local community. The night begins with a private networking reception for Chamber members in the Southern Tide 500 Club at 6:00, and members will be recognized during in-game ceremonies and will get to participate in between-innings games and entertainment. The Drive have been an active member of the Greenville Chamber since their inception in 2006 and are proud to host the annual Chamber event once again.
