The FBI is vetting some 25,000 National Guard troops coming to Washington DC ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration Wednesday. The strict vetting process comes as fears of an insider attack loom nationwide after the U.S. Capitol riots on Jan. 6. A company called StarMed is joining Mecklenburg County’s effort to vaccinate the general population. Starting Monday morning, StarMed will offer second doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to seniors who received their first shot earlier this month as part of Phase 1b vaccinations.
