Within days of the in-custody death of George Floyd, social media posts began circulating claiming to show a photo of the officer who knelt on Floyd’s neck, Derek Chauvin, wearing a “Make Whites Great Again” hat. Other posts asserted photographic ‘proof’ of him attending a rally for President Donald Trump. Fact checkers showed both these claims to be false.Rumors like these are nearly par for
