ABOUT THE SECRET BAND We cover everything from classic atrists like Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers and The Rolling Stones to more contemporary artists like Ryan Adams, The Black Crowes and Lucinda Williams. Plus we choose songs that are well-known, but not often covered by other bands, so our approach to covers has an original and refreshing feel. Mixing electric guitar and pedal steel with our steady rolling rhythm section gives us a unique and alluring sound and style. Whether you like to get up and dance, or sit back and listen, we have plenty to offer for a variety of audiences. The band members have years of performing and recording experience. Drummer Bill Fletcher has supported blues guitar extrordinaire Shane Pruitt in the Shane Pruitt Band, Tad Taylor is former vocalist and guitarist with The Watts, and Sean O' Shields has played keys and guitar with Groovehouse Orchestra and The Van Dangs. Bassist Ryan Ware just recently joined the band after twenty years spent working in and around Nashville playing with a number of bands and touring artists. ABOUT BIG JIM BROWN & THE SPEED KINGS Living in a single-wide trailer along that lonesome stretch of sonic highway between the Drive-by Truckers and JJ Cale, Big Jim Brown and The SpeedKings deliver soul-satisfying guitar-based Americana/alt-country roots rock. Lead guitarist and singer/songwriter Jim Brown draws on years of experience to craft a polished yet gritty sound, with songs that tell stories (sometimes true) of characters living on the fringe. The band's most recent CD is "After All, It's Been Forever" and Brown is currently working on a new album, "Devil on the Other Shoulder," which will be released on December 7, 2018. Jim previously lived in New Orleans and led his first band, Sweet Pea's Revenge, from Monaco Bob's Touchdown Lounge (bad) to Tipitina's to House of Blues to Jazz Fest (good). The band put out 5 CDs over a 7-year period and toured the Southeast and Western US, playing much-loved haunts like Judge Roy Bean's in Fairhope as well as top clubs like The Buffalo Rose in Colorado and The El Ray Theatre in Albuquerque NM. They opened for national acts like Delbert McClinton and Government Mule.
