About Tugalo Holler
Tugalo Holler (two-guh-lo haul-ur) is a hard-hitting gospel and bluegrass group from the upstate of South Carolina. The group focuses on delivering a fun, enthusiastic display of acoustic music that has pleased audiences from Tennessee to Georgia for the last 16 years
‘The Holler’, as some folks call it, strives to produce clean, intriguing music with solid instrumentation and pure vocals that are always timely and tasteful. Ranging from powerful, heart pounding male vocals, to haunting, gossamer female leads and harmonies the band is able to formulate a blend of original and standard music that echoes their Appalachian roots.
The band has opened for groups like Mountain Heart, New Found Road, The Dillards, and even country legend John Anderson as well as numerous radio and television appearances. Group members are quick to give credit to God for all their blessings and have made it a point over the years to always be willing to go wherever the Lord sends them.
About New Dixie Storm
New Dixie Storm became reality for a group of like-minded musicians from the foothills of South Carolina beginning in the Winter of 2000. Heavily influenced by the first generation bluegrass greats, NDS presents the traditional standards with a reverence for the originals while incorporating our own unique arrangements.
NDS was honored to be selected to compete in and subsequently win the 2006 South Carolina State Bluegrass Band Championship at RenoFest, held in Hartsville, SC. In 2009, NDS was presented with the opportunity to compete in SPBGMA’s International Band Championship in Nashville where NDS proudly came away with a fourth place win after competing with over 20 bands from across the country.
NDS has been privileged to have shared stages with many of today’s top bluegrass performers including The Del McCoury Band, JD Crowe & New South, IIIrd Tyme Out, Lonesome River Band, Dan Tyminski Band, Tony Rice, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage and Mountain Heart. Even though nearly two decades have passed, NDS’s enthusiasm endures. Although a couple of the faces have changed through the years, the quality of the music and artistic drive continues to grow.
