Sittin It Out

Dear Horizon Records Friends and Music Collectors: We are bummed out to tell you that after much ardent discussion and creative sweat, we’ve decided that we won’t be doing the August 29 RSD Drop#1. Yes, WE ARE SITTIN’ THIS ONE OUT. We came to this conclusion for the sake of our customers, staff and community. As much as we'd love to help you with these great RSD titles we'd much rather keep you safe and not standing in a line for hours (which is what this would have looked like if we participated). We WILL be open for business as usual from 11am-7pm Saturday and 11am-6pm Sunday, and we hope you'll drop by for some properly masked, socially distanced shopping. We are here for you; slingin’ the hits and the obscura 7 days a week. "A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song." - Chinese proverb “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." - Theodore Roosevelt It’s a big bummer, but we here feel this is no time to promote a large-scale event that is traditionally tied to lotsa peeps pouring into our store in one day. We feel incredibly lucky and grateful for all the support you’ve offered us during the various phases of this crazy pandemic run. We will continue with our current model of requiring masks and hand sanitizing at entry, limiting capacity and 11am – 6pm hours for now. We’re doing ok in the midst of all this chaos and turmoil, and we just want to keep you and us as safe as we possibly can so we can keep rolling with our mission: Bringing music to folks who love to listen and collect music. Horizon Records has proudly been an RSD affiliated store since its launch in 2008, and we have been pleased to grow with RSD. As the years have rolled on, the ascent of vinyl and RSDs expansion has been great for all us indie music retailers; but we feel it’s just not a good time right now to do this event. Thanks for understanding and thanks for your support. PLEASE STAY SAFE, AND AS ALWAYS, KEEP ROCKIN’.
