Ranger Cathy Taylor will lead a walk at 1 p.m. called “Reading the Woods.”
While hiking along a trail, there are stories to be told, if one only knows how to read them – in the landscape, the trees, and in the behavior of the animals. Join Ranger Cathy Taylor on a hike to Mountain Lake and back, reading the woods, while Mountain Creek sings its story all along the way. Quotes from some well known forest storytellers will help participants find the stories told along Sulphur Springs trail.
Meet at Shelter 6 in the Sulphur Springs Parking Area for this easy to moderate one-mile round trip walk. This 2-hour program is $7 per person, payable at the admission booth. Admission is waived. Registration is required. To register, email to firstname.lastname@example.org , or call the park office at 864-244-5565.
