Katherine Needleman is the Principal Oboe of the Baltimore Symphony and is one of the most sought-after oboists in the world. She will be making a special appearance at the CMM because of our personal connection. Katherine has frequently performed with major orchestras around the world. Devoted to contemporary music, she has premiered and commissioned major works by contemporary composers.
Igor Begelman is a clarinetist of virtuosity and imagination, both of which have earned him an impressive list of prizes, including the Avery Fisher Career Grant. His talents have taken him to concert halls around the world. Currently the Artist-In-Residence at the Peace Center in Greenville, SC, he is an active educator affiliated with the Piatigorsky Foundation, which allows him to perform and teach in untraditional settings.
Larisa Gelman is the current VP of Community Impact at the Peace Center. An accomplished and dynamic performer of the bassoon, she has been featured in performance at home and abroad. Her work with the Peace Center oversees programs that encompass an extraordinary range of arts education and community engagement.
Lisa Kiser is a vivid soloist and chamber musician. She has been awarded impressive prizes both in her native Korea and the United States. An educator as well as musician, Lisa works with keyboard students at the Governors School for the Arts and Humanities, The Fine Arts Center and Anderson University. Lisa has performed in recitals in Italy and the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. Lisa has been featured as a soloist with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. We are very fortunate to have Lisa as a member of the Carolina Music Museum Board.
