Wheel Session70 Peter Dimery Quartet Thursday, August 29, 2019 7:30 - 9:30 pm Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 1135 State Park Rd Greenville, SC 29609 Admission $15 (Cash only) Tenor saxophonist Peter Dimery is one of the hottest new voices in the Upstate jazz scene. A native of Florence, SC, Dimery moved to Greenville in 2011 to attend Furman University, where he studied with Matt Olson. He began his professional career shortly into college, working alongside regional and national acts. In recent years, Dimery has led his own groups in jazz residencies, performed with traveling act Power 2 Party, collaborated with numerous regional artists, and actively plays with area big bands. Peter has develop a sound and approach on his instrument that is reminiscent of Be-bop Masters Wayne Shorter and Joe Henderson. His quartet features Brad Jepson/trombone, Nick Vlandis/piano, Shannon Hoover/bass, and Kevin Korschgen/drums. The “Wheel Sessions” is a jazz performance series hosted in Greenville South Carolina. Performances begin at 7:30 pm, and are held in front of an intimate listening audience. Attendees may BYOB.
