
Gus Powell is an established photographer; his work has been exhibited internationally including a solo show at The Museum of The City of New York; and in group exhibitions at The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Fine Arts Houston and FOAM, NL. He has been published in Aperture, Harpers, Vogue, M le mag – Le Monde, Wired, Fortune and W, and has regularly contributed to The New Yorker for over a decade. On March 15th, he’ll be present to speak about two new bodies of work on view at Spartanburg Art Museum: his work for the Bloomberg Philanthropies Public Art Challenge and “The Lonely Ones,” a series of photographs that pair street photography with imaginative snippets of text.
