Feature poet Lyric. Joan 'Lyric' Leslie is the epitome of what it means to be "more black girl than magic". Her book, My Blackness Rhymes with Joy, is a journey to justice through healing and self-love. She uses comedy, poetry and story-telling to bring a narrative of joy to the black experience. Her work has been featured on: * Button Poetry * All Def Poetry * Homegrown poetry * Write About Now. Lyric is the 2017 and 2018 Queen of the South grand slam champion.
