Inman Harvest Day Festival!

*Please note-this event page is specifically regarding Emmanuel Arts and our involvement in the Inman Harvest Day Festival on Saturday, September 28th. For further information regarding the festival as a whole please see the Inman Harvest Day Festival page, the Harvest Day website or check out links on the Inman Chamber of Commerce page. Thanks! πŸ™‚ Emmanuel Arts dancers, family and friends, I know you are all as excited as I am about our fast-approaching inaugural day of programs for the fall 2019 ministry and performing season at the Inman Harvest Day Festival! This is not only our first event for the autumn, it is also one of the most enjoyable! The last Saturday of this month, (September 28th) Inman will close several blocks on Main and Mill Street and host its annual town fall festival. There will be plenty of things to look at and do, and Emmanuel Arts will be involved in the fun in a variety of ways. Our wonderfully talented dancers will be participating in hourly dance demonstrations, starting at 9am and going till 5pm. We have had many dancers and groups sign up to perform already-that line-up will be available for you to look at in the discussion section on this event page within the next few weeks. If you plan to dance on Harvest Day but have not signed up yet just get in touch! I will be happy to assist you in finding the perfect time to perform! Our demonstrations will be held inside Emmanuel Arts in the downstairs studio. We opted for the indoor programs about 7 years ago when performing groups utilizing the Main Street stage were asked to transition to using the pavement in front of the stage rather than actually doing their routines on the stage. This was due to the many wires, speakers, monitors, stands and other equipment set up for the bands and musical performers. It made it somewhat hazardous for visual performers such as dancers to use the space, which was also made smaller because of the onstage tent. So, rather than risk injury caused by dancing on such a hard surface, or dirty and damage our dance shoes we decided to begin having our show inside Emmanuel Arts. This also offered the benefit of air conditioning when it turned out to be a hot day, as well as providing bathrooms and changing space. The other thing it allowed for was the opportunity to have many programs held all day, rather than just one at a given time, which lets our dancers and families come when it is most convenient for them. πŸ™‚ Should you have any questions at all about our dance show options for this Harvest Day please let me know! Aside from our dance demos we will also be having a sidewalk sale to help benefit our scholarship fund. Items available for purchase will include baked goods, cold drinks, yard sale items and some craft items from local artists. If you would like to help man the sale table, donate baked goods or other items to sell or assist in another capacity we would love to get you involved! Our goal is to cover 3 scholarship students for the remainder of the fall semester with the funds raised. πŸ™‚ As you can tell-this event is one you will not want to miss! I will look forward to seeing you all there, and maybe even indulging in a funnel cake or some other fair fare! πŸ˜€ See you then!
