Gentrification Round Table

Gentrification is happening all around the West Side of Greenville, SC. New business are opening, old mills are being renovated into upscale apartments, and more people are moving to the area. However, many people are having to move out of their homes due to increased rents and property taxes. Join us as we are led by Furman professors, Dr. Shaniece Criss & Dr. Amy Jonason, in a two part round table discussion of the effects of gentrification in the West Side of Greenville. Part 1, held on January 16th, will focus on asking the questions what is gentrification and where do we see this in our community? During Part 2, held on January 30th, we will dive deeper in to the subject as we discuss ways, we can respond to the gentrification happening around us.
