Join us for the opening of the Chapman Cultural Center’s Creative Placemaking Studio, home to the HUB-BUB Artists-in-Residence Program studios and an interactive public art installation by Wofford student, Sheridan Kate Murray. Our artists-in-residence, Ambrin Ling and Marisa Adesman, will be opening their shared studio space to the public and available to give you a tour of their space and their work.
Through an internship with Wofford College, Sheridan Kate Murray will be debuting her community-based installation: Spartanburg Patchwork. This unique installation is a homage to Spartanburg’s textile history and is designed to elevate our shared and individual understandings of “home”. Taking the form of a paper “quilt”, visitors will have the opportunity to contribute their own interpretations of this project and participate in the placemaking process.
