Cherokee Lore

The Friends of Paris Mountain State Park will host the program at 10 a.m., “Cherokee Lore,” led by naturalist, historian and storyteller, Scott Withrow. Join Mr. Withrow as he tells about the female water spider that brought the first fire to the Cherokee, bear lore, and native trickster tales. A presentation in the Park Center classroom will be followed by a walk around the lake, looking for plants and animals that were important to the Cherokee people. Meet at Park Center for this family-friendly (ages 6 & up) program. This 2 hour program is free after park admission, and no registration is necessary.
