The 2019 course has been altered slightly because of the new venue. It will still take runners through much of Cherokee, including a loop in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park where elk are known to be sighted. The race will start and finish inside the Cherokee Fairgrounds.
There are six aid stations on the course, located approximately every two miles. Each station has a portable toilet.
All half marathon runners have 3 hours to complete the course in order to be provided full police protection and aid station support. Those still on the course at this time will be asked to stay to sidewalks and follow traffic rules. Race officials will stay with all runners on the course to make sure they arrive to the finish line safely.
Our new home has a number of amenities the former one did not including, permanent bathrooms, showers (bring your own towel), and the capability to move inside should the weather turn nasty.
