“Recently we did a lot of press for our new album “New Routes” and had some performances where we couldn’t logistically do the full band, so we did em’ as a “String Band” 2 Fiddles, Mandolin, Upright Bass and Acoustic Guitar and had a blast! We then started thinking about some of the material we could do with this lineup and got real excited. So! We decided to take it on the road! Don’t worry, AATW full band ain’t going nowhere, we just felt this would be a fun change of pace for some shows and to do something that AATW has never done before. So! Come on and check out the String Band, Katie, Dennis, Josh and Myself do some fiddle tunes, dive deep into the AATW catalog and surprises you’ll just have to come see in person!” Ray Benson

KYLE PETTY is a former race car driver turned racing analyst who has always carried a passion for music. A traveling preacher at the racetrack gave Petty his very first guitar at age 12. Petty soon began writing his own music in high school, finding creative influences in country artists, such as Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and singer-songwriters like Carole King, James Taylor, Harry Chapin and Jim Croce.

Singer-songwriter DAVID CHILDERS is the proverbial study in contradictions. A resident of Mount Holly, North Carolina, he’s a former high-school football player with the aw-shucks demeanor. But he’s also a well-read poet and painter who cites Chaucer and Kerouac as influences, fell in love with folk as a teen, listens to jazz and opera, and fed his family by practicing law before turning in his license to concentrate on his creative passions.
