Event Details

The Nature Discovery Program is an afterschool program that will engage 5-10 year old children in nature exploration and activities.

This is a drop off ONLY program. Parents are welcome to walk around the Preserve or run errands while their child participates. The teaching groups will consist of no more than 10 students and the instructor. We strive every week to divide the group based on age so that we can offer age appropriate activities to everyone involved. That may not be possible if the number of participants is too small.

These classes will be offered every other Thursday starting March 4th. Please review the attached flier for a description of each class.

One child can participate for $10. Additional children from the immediate family can participate for $8/each. Please pay attention to this as well as the age of the child when purchasing a ticket.

You will receive an email a day or two before the event that will let you know what your child needs to bring as well as the exact meeting location. DO NOT rely on mapping the name of the Preserve. We have several entry points and trailheads. If you do not get the email by the the morning of the event please email to get the information.

In following with recommendations from the CDC and SCDHEC we will require face masks when physical distancing is not possible. Any equipment that the children use will be assigned to them for the duration of the program. If necessary, equipment will be sanitized between uses if it is being shared. Parents/guardians will have to fill out and sign a waiver. You will find a copy of the waiver below. Feel free to print (2 pages) and fill it out prior to drop off to save time. In order to print the waiver you will need to right click and then choose “save image” to download.

These events will be rain or shine! In the event of severe weather we will try to reschedule. No refunds will be issued unless LCNP cancels the event. Exceptions will be made to those who are having to quarantine due to COVID or are experiencing symptoms that preclude their participation.
