We are kicking off a Fun-Raiser for our area’s most amazing Santa by hosting him on the farm for a Half-Christmas Fund-Raiser Luau so we can help this sweet gentleman get ahead of his mounting bills and rest easy this year as he fights cancer. Our longtime Greenville Santa, serving the community for 50 years will be here wearing his best Hawaiian shirt, because this special event is really all about him! You’ll get to see Santa sport a tan, take selfie pictures for you and your family, and to get a chance to visit with him during his summer vacation. This Half-Christmas special Luau event was originally planned as a fun thing to do to mid-summer to give kids a chance to see and visit with the most loved Santa around! But then overnight suddenly the event changed because we learned our dear longtime friend and Santa, Frank Hayes, who we have worked with on Christmas events since 2004, has been diagnosed with Cancer for a second time in his life and is currently undergoing treatment which will last well into October, please help us help him pay off some of those mounting medical bills! Frank is a wonderfully generous man who continues to work all year round while he eagerly waits for Christmas so he can delight children and spread joy. Seeing him go through Chemo and fight to get well inspired us to share his story and launch this kick-off event for him. We really want to help him rest a little easier before the holidays and get well by launching this “Fun-Raiser” day at the farm to try and raise $5,000 for him between now and September 30, so he has a little extra to spend this holiday season in case he has to take his Santa work more slowly than year’s past. Please help us celebrate this cherished local member of our community, who for 50 years has guided Rudolf through the nighttime sky of Greenville on Christmas night and has sat generations of the Upstate on his lap to listen to the wishes of our precious children, he has given so much! If you can’t make the event, that’s okay – farm owner, Kate Nichols, has established a Facebook fundraiser for giving to Frank and all net donations will be given directly to him. Because Santa is fighting a serious disease, he will be socially distanced for any pictures, but as with Christmas we promise it will be creative and adorably set up! There are no refunds for this event since it is a fundraiser and if Santa cannot attend the event for health reasons all proceeds will be given to him directly, even if he is not in attendance for the event which will still occur in his absence.
