Join us for the longest-running poetry showcase in South Carolina, celebrating 19 years of exciting poetry programming since 2002.
Say What Returns to Coffee Underground Sunday for the end of the month Haiku Slam! Haiku is a formal Japanese form of poetry that typically dealt with seasons or transitions. Spoken word haikus do not subscribe to the Japanese 5-7-5 pattern, but maintains the core principle of seventeen syllables or less that can focus on social injustice, love, life, and etc.
Poets in this Haiku death match go head to head with their best haikus. Who will be the next Haiku master!!!
Poets from across the region come together for this special event! Come out and see how creative they can get with seventeen syllables. Doors open at 7:00pm. $10.
