IMPROV COMEDY featuring Now Are the Foxes (Charlotte, NC), Haymaker (Greenville, SC), and Impromptu (Sarasota, FL)
Now Are The Foxes is an improvisation and sketch comedy company based along the I-85 corridor. We are an ever-evolving, innovative, troupe dedicated to growing our own performance skills and entertaining others. Our shows are like that thing where you tip back in a chair so it’s just on two legs, and then you lean a little too far and you almost fall over backwards but then you catch yourself and you think, “I almost died!” but then you go right back to doing it again. Cast includes: Jenayeda Shephard, Jessica Noll, Kurt Massey, Austen DiPalma, Karla Dingle, Cale Evans, Brandon Short, Lucas Lockerbie, and Annarah Shephard.
Starting with a suggestion from the audience, Haymaker will create a 30 minute theatrical show on the spot. Sometimes it’ll feel like a play and othertimes like a dream: the scenes build, push, crash, and fold into each other… themes, characters, patterns, and ideas all might appear and reappear… the original suggestion might come back into focus in surpising ways. But you never know—and neither do we! Cast includes: Ben Burris, Manus Clancy, Steven Crane, Ruth Aronoff, Burke Brown, and Nicole McAden.
Impromptu takes the culture, history and passion of the 1940s-50s, and merges them into a play rich with characters full of passion and humor, and stories that will tug your heart. And, oh yes, we make it up ON THE SPOT. It’s not scripted, we don’t rehearse the lines, and we discover the story when you do. All the members of Impromptu bring a wealth of experience to the stage, as professional actors, storytellers, and playwrights. We have all trained with the esteemed Florida Studio Theatre Improv Program, under the direction of Will Luera, and our coach is Lisa Fredrickson of Impro Theatre LA. Cast includes: Kathleen Rinaldi, Joe Rinaldi, and Teresa Bueno.
