DHEC reports highest new COVID-19 case count to date Saturday

Highest daily increase of coronavirus cases reported Saturday, according to DHEC

South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control officials reported the highest new COVID-19 case count to date Friday, according to numbers provided Saturday.DHEC says 512 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, bringing the total confirmed cases to 13,916 in South Carolina.DHEC officials also reported 7 additional deaths, including one person in Cherokee county and one person in Greenwood county.545 people have died due to coronavirus in the state.The number of new cases in the Upstate reported by county are as follows: Abbeville (2), Anderson (7), Cherokee (17), Greenville (80), Greenwood (12), Laurens (7), Oconee (2), Pickens (4), Spartanburg (42), Union (1).Officials say 5,536 tests were performed statewide Friday, and 9.2% of those tests were positive.
