The new general manager of the NFL team spoke with WCNC Charlotte’s Nick Carboni about his vision for the team and what it feels like to have the reins of an NFL team.

Scott Fitterer called his opportunity with the Carolina Panthers “exciting.”

He’s been in Seattle for an extended period of time, but he said his family has heard “nothing but good things” about Charlotte.

Fitterer is looking forward to help rookies grow within the organization and working as a partner with the head coach Matt Rhule.

He defines what he thinks a franchise quarterback is, saying “you need a leader.” “It’s not just about throwing the ball to a receiver.”

When it comes to the identity of the team, he says he already has seen the effort being put forth already.

The first thing he plans to do is “evaluate the team” and what drives the players.

He reveals his tactics for recruiting new players and how he plans to form a winning team.
