BREAKING NEWS OUT OF THE GREENVILLE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT. STUDENTS CAN START SUMMER ATHLETIC WORKOUTS ON JUNE 15. AND SUMMER CAMPS WILL BEGIN IN JULY. SCHOOL OFFICIALS SAY THE FIRST THREE DAYS OF SPORTS WORKOUTS. Survey will help district form plan on reopening

(Above video is from June 12.)Greenville County Schools is asking parents to help officials figure out what the reopening of school looks like in August.The district has launched a survey on the GCS website to measure parent preferences and expectations in light of COVID-19. The survey asks questions like:If there is no widely available vaccine for COVID-19 by August, will you allow your child to return to in-person (at school) instruction this fall? If there is no widely available vaccine for COVID-19 by August, will you allow your child to ride the bus this fall? If GCS is unable to return to full-time in-person instruction, do you have child care options or the ability to work from home the days your child is not in school? One parent or guardian from each GCS family is asked to complete the survey.The questionnaire does not contain open-ended questions due to the need for a quick and automated analysis of responses, according to the district’s director of media relations Tim Waller. Parents with specific questions or input are asked to call our Service Center at 355-3100. The survey will only be available until June 24, 2020, Waller said.
