As rain gave way to sunshine Friday afternoon, hundreds of protesters returned to downtown Asheville for the sixth day of protests. The protests follow the murder of George Floyd, but have since expanded to remember other lives lost to police brutality. In a similar trend reflected across the country, the protests remained peaceful during the day. However, at nightfall, things escalated between crowds and police.
