Police said they have arrested several people in connection with a shooting that injured a 6-month-old child and killed two adults.Cheraw police said in a Facebook post that they responded to the Dizzy Gillespie Apartment Complex around 4 a.m. Sunday.When they got there, police said they found a man with gunshot wounds in the front seat of a car in a roadway.Further investigation led them to two more gunshot victims inside an apartment: an adult female and a 6-month-old child.Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.The child was taken to McLeod Health Cheraw Hospital, and then transferred to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia. The child was shot in the arm, and is expected to recover.Police said they made multiple arrests after interviewing witnesses and suspects, and working with SLED’s crime scene unit. Two guns were removed from the area after the shooting, according to police.In the Facebook post the police chief said, “I want that person to know that we have you on video removing these guns from the scene and it would be in your best interest to contact us immediately and turn over these weapons. If not, we will be seeking arrest warrants for you Monday morning.”Cheraw police are expected to hold a news conference on Monday at 2 p.m. where they will release more information about the shooting and the suspects.
