The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is investigating nine additional cases of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, the department said on Sunday, March 15. Out of the nine, three are from the Upstate.

The newly released numbers mean there are 28 cases in the state.

“We emphasize the
