Autumn officially began on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Summer’s warm weather looks like it is going to hang around and could delay peak fall foliage. Although some leaves will begin changing color in early September, with most of the country seeing changes by mid-October with South Carolina seeing a peak in mid-October. Now is the time to start planning your day trip to our surrounding mountains for fall leaf watching as we are entering the best time to visit smoky mountains for fall colors in 2020.

The Upstate of South Carolina and the Asheville area are among some of the best spots in the country to enjoy the fall leaves so don’t miss natures annual display of Fall colors and beautiful foliage.
