Thomas Creek Brewery will release its Gallabrae Scottish Ale with a party on location this Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as part of the annual countdown to the Greenville Scottish Games.
The event will include the 2018 tapping of the Gallabrae brew, live music by the City of Greenville Pipe and Drums, and various food offerings. Attendees can expect appearances from various kilted participants of the Greenville Scottish Games and official video releases for Gallabrae Scottish Ale.
Gallabrae is a bright umber true Scottish Ale based on a 60 shilling recipe. The brew sticks with old world traditions by utilizing the aromas and flavors of peated malt to round out lightly toasted caramel. Earthy notes from Noble English hops provide a balanced finish. As the official beer of the Greenville Scottish games held annually at Furman University, it will be available at the release party this week as well as at the Games on May 27.
The Games commemorate Scottish heritage with a variety of food, drink, competitions, shows, and Celtic musical performances. Highlights include a Great Scot! Parade in downtown Greenville on May 25, a bagpipe challenge, a British car show, a Celtic jam. The actual Scottish Games are based on the warrior traditions at ancient clan gatherings. The Thomas Creek Gallabrea tapping release entices locals to take a sip of Scottish culture right here in South Carolina as they prepare for the games in May.Learn more at gallabrae.com
