The Greenville Drive waste no time in returning to Fluor Field, as they kick off a seven-day homestand on Monday, July 30th! This week features eight days in seven games thanks to a recent rainout in Asheville, and the Drive will welcome the Asheville Tourists and Rome Braves, a pair of Southern Division rivals, to Greenville for four games apiece. This homestand is jam-packed with both special community events and family-friendly promotions that will bring Drive fans of all ages together. Don’t miss the action on the field either, as the Drive look to continue their quest for the Southern Division title and a return to the South Atlantic League playoffs!

The Drive kick off the series against Asheville on Monday, July 30th with Advanced Manufacturing Night at Fluor Field in partnership with BMW Manufacturing, Hubbell Lighting, and Greenville Technical College. The third annual Advanced Manufacturing Night is designed to bring awareness to students and parents across the Upstate about the unique work experience and exciting career opportunities that are available in the advanced manufacturing and engineering fields. To encourage students to enjoy and take in this important learning experience, the Drive are providing complimentary tickets to all K-12 students, and the first 500 will receive special “Ignite the Passion” T-shirts. Youth and students will be able to visit each exhibit and complete tasks to join the “Innovators Club,” where they will be entered for a chance to win great prizes, including a drone, a tour of the BMW Manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, and more. First pitch for the game is at 7:05 PM, and the gates open at 6:00.
On Tuesday, July 31st, the Drive and Tourists will play a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 PM. Don’t miss this great opportunity to enjoy a pair of games between two teams who are in first and second place in the Southern Division! During game two, the Drive will celebrate Greenville Chamber Night presented by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in recognition of the role the Chamber plays in improving education, entrepreneurship and economic development across the local community. Greenville Chamber president Carlos Phillips, as well as other members of Chamber leadership and investors, will take part in fun activities such as throwing out the first pitch, celebrating investors’ milestone anniversaries and participating in between-inning festivities. The Drive have been an active member of the Greenville Chamber since their inception in 2006 and are proud to host the annual Chamber event again in 2018.
The Drive will hold their annual celebration of Greenville’s birthday on Wednesday, August 1st with Green Day presented by TD Bank. Each year, the Drive pay tribute to an individual who has helped make Greenville one of the most dynamic cities in the country. Spinx founder Stewart Spinks has been chosen as the 2018 honoree because of his commitment to serving the Greenville community through his role as the founder of The Spinx Company, which is the largest privately-owned retail company headquartered in S.C. with 81 locations and more than 1,400 associates. Spinks built his business through his unwavering commitment to customers and willingness to take risks and bring new offerings to Spinx stores, including his legendary fried chicken. In addition to his tremendous business success, Stewart’s commitment to the Greenville community as a community and civic leader is extraordinary.
In honor of Greenville’s 187th birthday, Drive players will wear special green uniforms and caps on Green Day, and fans are encouraged to create a “green out” by sporting green as well. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, and the first 1,000 adults who enter when the gates open at 6:00 will receive a commemorative Green Day T-shirt, while the first 1,000 kids at Fluor Field will receive a commemorative Green Day superhero cape, all courtesy of TD Bank. In addition, TD Bank will provide a “Green Carpet” experience at all Fluor Field concession stands while holding special giveaways throughout the game. Following the game, fans are invited to stick around for a spectacular fireworks show in celebration of Greenville, featuring music from Jimmy Buffett.

The Drive welcome the Rome Braves to Greenville on Thursday, August 2nd at 7:05 PM, and it’s Dollar Drink Night at Fluor Field! The drink specials begin at 6:00 PM when the gates open. $1 Pepsi products are available for purchase at all Fluor Field concession stands, and fans over 21 are invited to the 500 Club for $1 Keystone Light. Be sure to cast your vote on the Drive’s Twitter page now for the $2 Beer of the Month in the 500 Club as well! This month’s featured brewery is Cigar City Brewing, and you can choose between Jai Alai Pale Ale and Cigar City Lager. Thursday is also Reedy’s birthday celebration, so be sure to wish our favorite frog a very happy birthday and say hello to his friends who join him on his very special day!
The Hubbell Lighting “Light it Up” Friday Night Fireworks return following the 7:05 PM game on Friday, August 3rd! The best fireworks show in Greenville will be accompanied by music from The Greatest Showman. Friday marks the return of the Thirst Inning promotion, which features $2 Budweisers at the beer carts on the first and third base side during the first inning.
The Drive will suit up as the Greenville Energia on Saturday, August 4th for the third Copa de la Diversion game of the season. First pitch is at 7:05 PM for this celebration of the local Hispanic communities, and you won’t want to miss the fun! The night will include Hispanic music and special menu items, including arepas con pollo, Mexican street corn and postre de chaja, a Uruguayan sponge cake dessert.
Boy Scout Day is Sunday, August 5th at Fluor Field. The fun begins with a pregame parade on the field for Upstate Boy Scout troops at 3:30 PM prior to the 4:05 first pitch. The Boy Scouts will be recognized for their hard work this past year with a special commemorative patch, and they will be celebrated and recognized throughout the evening with between-inning games and entertainment. Be sure to come out on Sunday to celebrate the Boy Scouts for their outstanding accomplishments this year and cheer on the Drive. Following the game, be sure to stick around for Kids Run the Bases presented by BlueCross BlueShield!
