Through the first month of the season, the Greenville Drive’s young, talented roster has brought an exciting brand of baseball to Fluor Field. Following a nine-day road trip, that exciting roster will return to the familiar confines of Fluor Field on Wednesday, May 4th to begin a seven-game homestand against a pair of Southern Division rivals.
The homestand begins on Wednesday, May 4th when the Drive welcome the Augusta GreenJackets, affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, to town for a three-game series. Wednesday is Health Careers Night at Fluor Field, a first-ever event put together by the Drive in partnership with Greenville Health System and Greenville County Schools. Health Career Night will educate and excite students about the wide-ranging career opportunities available in health care. Interactive concourse exhibits, engaging displays, a Fitbit giveaway, and much more will ensure a one-of-a-kind, memorable night at the ballpark. Health Career Night starts with a Health Career Fair at 6:00 PM with first pitch following at 7:05 PM. Wednesday is also Iron Pint Wednesday, where fans can enjoy $3 Iron Pints in The Iron Yard 500 Club from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Dollar Drink Night presented by The Iron Yard returns to Fluor Field on Thursday, May 5th, with first pitch at 7:05 PM. Fans of all ages can enjoy $1 Pepsi products at all concession stands, and The Iron Yard 500 Club will be open before and during the game for fans 21 and older with $1 PBRs available for purchase. Live music and karaoke from Uptown Entertainment combined with baseball will make The Iron Yard 500 Club the place to be on Thursday night.
Put on your best super hero garb on Friday, May 6th for Super Hero Night at Fluor Field. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, and fans will be treated to appearances by Arrow and The Flash as part of the fun. The CW and Borderlands Comics will be on hand to pass out Flash wristbands and complimentary comic books, including a special comic book cover with Fluor Field prominently displayed, and fans will enjoy the super hero themed music and entertainment throughout the night. Following the game, the Drive will shoot off their famous Friday Night Fireworks.
The Drive welcome the Columbia Fireflies, affiliate of the New York Mets, back to Greenville on Saturday, May 7th, and fans will go back in time to celebrate 90’s Night at 7:05 PM. Come on out to enjoy all your favorite 90’s tunes from Backstreet Boys, Hootie and the Blowfish, TLC and more, and you won’t want to miss Reedy’s 90’s-themed dance in addition to other fun 90’s games. Prior to the Drive’s contest, Fluor Field will be hosting the Mauldin Miracle League on Saturday with a pair of games on the field, and Drive and Fireflies players and coaches will take the field with them for a special day.
Spend your Sunday, May 8th with the Drive for a fun day with the whole family! First pitch is at 4:05 PM, and the Drive will be hosting a Mother’s Day celebration picnic beginning at 3:00. Tickets for the picnic are available now for $14 and include an all-you-can-eat buffet and a ticket to the game, and tickets are available for everyone, not just mothers! The Drive are also teaming up with the Greenville Humane Society for Bark in the Park on Sunday, so bring your four-legged friend along for a day of fun. Special seating is available for fans who want to bring their dogs.
On Monday, May 9th, the Drive will host YMCA Night at Fluor Field. The game begins at 7:05 PM, but the fun begins with a pregame parade around the field at 6:30 PM featuring local YMCA youth sports players and coaches. All game long, YMCA players, coaches and staff will be featured for their accomplishments and get to participate in the between-innings entertainment.
The homestand concludes on Tuesday, May 10th as Fluor Field hosts Drive Business Downtown presented by Elliott Davis Decosimo with a special 2:05 PM start time. This unique event in and about the heart of Downtown Greenville celebrates our wonderful downtown and those most committed to its development. This will be a day of celebration and networking, as well as giving back, as proceeds from the day will benefit United Ministries’ one of Greenville’s most significant non-profit organizations. With 40+ companies signed up as Drive Business Downtown “boosters’ this promises to be a very special day at the ballpark as the Drive conclude their seven game homestand.
