When we meet Carol Wall, she’s ten years out from breast cancer treatment, coming off family sorrow and stress, and her Richmond yard is something of a metaphorical disaster area. Enter Giles Owita, a Kenyan trained in landscape design and the art of gently appreciating life. The unlikely bond they form is the heart of this story, one that opens your eyes to the small good things around you. We can’t think of a better way to greet spring.
Carol’s husband Dick will be on hand to discuss her inspiring story. And we’ve sat down with Steve and Cheryl from Upcountry Provisions to plan a menu inspired by the magnificent blooms in Mr. Owita’s Guide to Gardening, a copy of which is included in the price of your ticket. Don’t miss this chance to see the talented team behind the TR favorite flex their fancy dinner muscles. A portion of the proceeds from tickets sales will go the the Greenville Cancer Survivors Park.
