Let’s get together and do some trail maintenance on one of our favorite trails! In order for us to ride cool trails, someone has to build and maintain those trails. On September 15th, the Upstate Shredders will be partnering with UpstateSORBA and the Paris Mountain State Park Management to do just that. This is one of the best places to ride in the Upstate, and those who join in the fun will get the opportunity to LITERALLY help shape the trails.
We will be meeting Saturday, September 15th from 9:00am- 12:00 noon at Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville, SC. We will be hiking out to work on several sections of the trail, so bring good hiking/work shoes. The group will be dividing into smaller groups to handle specific tasks, and tools will be handed out accordingly. There will be all types of jobs for student athletes and adults alike. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early; you may miss important information or miss the group entirely if you arrive late.
Q: Do I need to RSVP?
A: YES! Please let us know if you are coming so that we know how many people will be taking part. Shredders, please RSVP through TeamApp, otherwise RSVP here on Facebook!
Q: Do what do I need to bring?
A: Closed-toe shoes, and a water bottle or hydration pack are required. We also suggest, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and sunglasses.
Q: What if it rains?
A: The work day is rain or shine, but we will cancel it due to extreme weather or lightning. Check the team’s Facebook, Instagram, or TeamApp for last minute communication in the event of questionable weather.
Q: I don’t have any tools. Do I need to buy them?
A: No- tools will be provided. We will be using shovels, rakes, pickaxes, and McLeods. If you’d prefer to bring your own, you certainly may.
Q: Do I have to be a Shredder’s member?
A: No- These things are always more fun with more people! Bring your friends and neighbors.
