“The Pitch Hitters” sang for the first time on June 21, 2008. This a-cappella group was organized to sing for the opening of the ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson Museum and Library in Greenville South Carolina.
Using a mix of barbershop style music and a little vocal gymnastics, this volunteer men’s chorus includes mechanics, teachers, and business entrepreneurs. While all of these men are involved with their church music programs, many are also engaged in other groups including quartets, larger ensembles, various recording groups and community choruses. Some of the men direct, arrange and compose music on their own.
