Born in the USA January 1935: travel-friendly, infinitely recyclable, present at every BBQ & tailgate, light enough to stuff in your trail pack, crushable, chugable, shotgunable, a symbol of democracy. From the nostalgia of your first macro-lager, to the fresh crack of a local brew, what’s not to love? That’s why we’re celebrating America’s favorite homegrown drinking vessel: the aluminum can.
Sunday, July 15th from 12pm – 5pm come out to Monkey Wrench Smokehouse on Main Street in Travelers Rest for live music, BBQ, cornhole, & canned craft beer. We’ll be featuring over 20 of our favorite American-made craft beers (plus some canned ciders & wines!). Here’s a sneak peak at some of our offerings:
Bird’s Fly South’s Bluprint IPA
Edmund Oast’s Something Cold Premium Blonde
Birds Fly South’s Noodles Rice Lager
Revelry’s Funkmaster Brett & the Furious Hops IPA
Birds Fly South’s Biggie Golden Sour
Westbrook’s Lemon Cucumber Gose

Canned beer?! Really?!?!
Yes, really! There are so many reasons to love canned beer. Here are some of our favorites:
– Cans are better for the environment! They’re easier to recycle, require less packaging materials, and are much lighter to ship.
– Cans protect beer! Cans are impervious to sunlight, airtight, and coated with an aqueous polymer liner that keeps your beer from tasting like metal.
– Cans go further! They take up less space in your pack, they’re allowed places that glass isn’t, and it won’t matter if you forgot to pack a bottle opener.
