About Sewaba

Bolokada Conde is a world renowned djembe player and has lived in the Greenville for several years until recently moving to Easley. He has united 15 of the foremost Guinean djembe players and dancers from the last five decades. It’s the biggest West African Grandmaster ballet in U.S. history and it’s being kicked off right here in Greenville

To kick off the two days of workshops and dance classes, there will be a concert on Friday the 31st, followed by two full days of djembe and dance workshops. Learn how to play balafon, flute, kora, and djembe with world renowned masters as well as learn traditional dance.

*Ala Carte Tickets are $35 for one class, $50 for two classes, or $75 for three classes of your choice for either Saturday or Sunday*

*dundun dance party is not included in ala carte tickets.*

The following is the schedule for workshops.

Saturday:

Balafon 9a-10:30, taught by Lansana Tasana Camara and Aboubacar Sylla

Dance class 10:45 to 12:15 taught by Naby Bangoura

lunch 12:15 to 1:30

Drum class 1:30 to 3p, Mamady Wadaba Kourouma

Dance class 3:15 to 4:45, Marieatou Camara

Drum class 5p to 6:30, Sayon Kamara

break 6:30 to 7

Drum and dance class 7 to 8:30, Bolokada Conde and Alseny Soumah

Sunday:

Flute ( Mamady Mansare )

OR Kora class (Lansana Tasana Camara ) 9a to 10:30

Dance class 11 to 12:30, Mimounatou Camara

lunch 12:30 to 1:30

Drum class (Dundun Dance) 2 to 3:30, Bolokada Conde

Dundun party 4p to 6, all artists
